Community Champion

Sharon's passion for supporting and caring for all, began with her fostering career in 2012. Her own mortality was challenged when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This experience changed her whole perspective and allowed her to pursue various avenues in order to support and develop her skills for all ages.

She has been teaching in Further Education since 1994 and felt that to stretch herself she needed to diversify her pastoral skills. Along side fostering since 2013 she decided she wanted to pursue counselling, supporting mental health and SEN understanding. This was all achieved to a Level 3 standard.

Sharon has volunteered in lots of charities, Beacon, Home start and now WYC.

Sharon is excited about how she can support the age she has worked with all her teaching career, and support their mental health and wellbeing.
