We’re here for parents & carers, too.
When we are working with your young person within our service, we can also provide a confidential consultation with a senior counsellor (different to your young person's counsellor) on request.
During a consultation, you will be able to:
Talk through any issues affecting a young person in your life.
Build an understanding of how to help young people who are struggling.
Reflect upon ways to improve the communication and understanding between you.
Sessions last approximately 30-40 minutes. If you are able to, we suggest a voluntary donation of £15–£20 for this service, in order to help sustain this provision and enable us to continue offering support to families and young people in our area.
Please contact us on the link above to request a parent / carer consultation, or call us on 01962 820 444.

OTC Parent & Carer Consultation
OTC is an initiative of WYC offering paid-for counselling services to those living in the Winchester District, to help raise funds for WYC to continue supporting local young people. OTC offers consultations either as a one-off or as a series of sessions, with a frequency that works alongside the issues being supported. Your young person does not have to be receiving support from either WYC or OTC for you to access this parent and carer consultation service, but if so then we ensure you see a different counsellor to protect confidentiality.
These sessions are an opportunity for you to think together with a counsellor about:
• What it is like to support your young person
• Problems that occur at home
• Challenges in your lives generally
• There is then space to work out together what may create positive changes, including other forms of support that may be available.
The sessions are 50-minutes long and cost £65. You can book sessions as you go along or map out the whole series together at the start and agree dates and times.
