Youth Board Member
Aryan

Hey, I’m Aryan! I study biology, chemistry and maths at A level and when I’m older I’d love to be a doctor!
To me, joining the youth board is an opportunity to understand others’ experiences and share my own with mental health, especially from the perspective of a young male in an ethnic minority group. My goal is to make mental health support more accessible to everyone, and also to break down the barriers that prevent people from reaching out for help.
I enjoy writing, crocheting and I also play the acoustic guitar. During my downtime you would probably find me reading a book or watching a medical drama (House is my personal favourite).

Anna

Hi, I'm Anna. I'm currently pursuing a master's degree in project management. I wanted to join the youth board to help promote and advocate for accessible mental health support for everyone. I want to use my experience, both with mental health issues and my undergraduate degree in education, to help improve and advocate to make sure that no one is left out or feeling like they are not worthy of support.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and doing crafts, especially crocheting. When the weather is good, I also like to go for a walk in one of the nearby parks.

Astrid

Hi, I’m Astrid! I’m passionate about making a difference in the mental health system and I have a big interest in psychology. I wanted to join the youth board because I believe in the importance of accessible support and want to help services to support the needs of many different individuals.

I currently study psychology, sociology, and English literature and work part time in a pharmacy. In my free time I mostly enjoy drawing and spending time with my cat.

Katie

Hi, I am Katie! I am currently studying biology, chemistry and psychology for my A Levels at college with the hope to study medicine at university. I am passionate about joining the youth board as I feel strongly that everyone should be able to have a chance to talk about their mental health, regardless of who they are. I would also like to represent my own and other peoples experiences of counselling and share ideas on how it can be inclusive to everyone.

In my free time, I enjoy staying as active as I can or crafting with a good movie on!

Khia

Hi everyone! I’m Khia and I am currently studying a master’s in forensic psychology. I joined the youth board as I want to ensure that young people are supported with their mental health as well as making sure everyone’s voices are heard. Whilst being on the youth board, I hope to bring ideas to the table that reflect the needs of the youth within our community to help make a positive difference.

In my spare time I am an international cheerleader competing all over the world! This year, I am competing in Texas and Portugal at the most prestigious cheerleading competitions. I also love going for coffee with my friends.

Hey! I’m Lilly. I’m currently studying English literature, Politics and History A level at college. I love writing and cooking. I’m passionate about young people’s mental health and have a focused interest on victims of trauma. I’m hoping to help young people have a better experience at getting help than I did.

Olivia

Hi, I’m Olivia! I’m currently studying Law at university. I’m hoping to become a barrister one day, as I have a massive passion for advocacy. This is one of the reasons I wanted to join the WYC Youth Board. Alongside my own personal experiences with mental health, I’ve learnt the importance of mental health services and having a supportive community.

I spend most of my free time getting involved with university life, I regularly help at Winchester Students Union. When I’m not advocating for others, I’m spending time with my adorable pets!
